Your skin sheds around 30,000 to 40,000 dead cells every hour. You may not see them, but it’s happening all day. The problem isn’t the shedding. It’s that those cells don’t always leave cleanly. They accumulate in the outer layer, sitting on top of fresh skin and a regular shower doesn’t remove them.
A Closer Look at Your Skin’s Health
Your skin accounts for 10 to 15 per cent of your body weight. Men’s skin is roughly 25 per cent thicker than women’s, which means the buildup is heavier and harder to clear on its own.
Soap and water remove surface dirt and sweat. They don’t remove the compacted layer of dead cells sitting underneath. In a Dubai summer, that layer — combined with heat, sweat, and sunscreen — accumulates faster than the body can shed it. UV exposure makes it worse: the skin thickens its outer layer as a natural defence against the sun.
The result is a dull, congested surface that no amount of showering fully resolves.
The Solution: Moroccan Bath
The Moroccan Bath, known as Hamam Maghrabi, is a centuries-old ritual — and it was designed for exactly this kind of climate.
We begin the bath with warm steam and a full-body rinse to open up your pores. Then comes the traditional Moroccan soap — known as savon beldi — applied head to toe to loosen dead skin and toxins. After 15 minutes, we scrub you down with a kessa mitt, exfoliating every inch from back to front.
You can choose from our selection of premium body scrubs that deep-clean your pores while nourishing your skin with antioxidants to help maintain its natural moisture. We finish with a body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and a warm milk rinse to lock in the hydration.
Why Men Need the Moroccan Bath More Than They Realise
If you shave regularly, you know about ingrown hairs. The Moroccan Bath’s exfoliation unclogs the follicles that trap them and removes the dead skin layer that causes them in the first place. It also balances your skin’s oil secretions.
Hot weather is when the buildup is heaviest, when the skin is most stressed, and when a proper reset makes the most difference. Clearing the dead layer means your skin handles sweat and heat better going forward — less congestion, less dullness.
Most clients describe the 24 hours after as the best their skin has felt.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Moroccan Bath only for women?
No. The Moroccan Bath is historically a men’s ritual. Hammams across North Africa were male-only spaces for centuries. At Cool Aroma, the treatment is designed specifically for men, accounting for the fact that men’s skin is thicker, oilier, and accumulates dead skin more heavily.
What’s the difference between a Moroccan Bath and a body scrub?
A standard body scrub buffs the surface. The Moroccan Bath goes further: the steam opens your pores first, the black soap softens the compacted dead layer over 15 minutes, and then the kessa mitt physically removes that layer. It’s a full skin reset, not a surface treatment.
Does the scrubbing hurt?
It’s firm, but not painful. The steam and black soap soften the skin beforehand, which makes the exfoliation effective rather than abrasive. If you have sensitive skin, let your therapist know at the start of the session.
Why is it especially useful in Dubai’s climate?
In hot weather, the outer dead skin layer thickens as a natural UV defence, and sweat plus sunscreen accumulate faster than the body can shed. The normal cell renewal cycle takes 27 to 30 days — in the meantime, congestion builds, and the skin becomes dull and stressed. The Moroccan Bath manually resets that cycle.
How often should I book?
Most clients book once a month. The skin’s outer layer renews on a 27- to 30-day cycle, so monthly sessions align with that natural rhythm and prevent buildup between visits. During hot months, some clients book every three weeks.
Can I combine it with a massage?
Yes. Cool Aroma Spa offers a combined Moroccan Bath and one-hour body massage as a single session. The bath resets the skin, and the massage targets the muscles and tissues beneath. It’s the most complete treatment we offer.
